What if the bus stop is too far to get to by walking?
Consider riding your bike to the bus stop. Greenlink buses are equipped with bike racks that will hold up to three bicycles. Watch a video about how to use the bike racks.
What time do you need to be at the bus stop in order to catch the bus?
Use Google Transit to enter in your starting destination and your ending destination. Google Transit will then provide walking directions to the nearest bus stop, departure times, bus route details, transfer locations, and total trip time.
You can also download the Google Maps app for your Android or Apple device. Make sure you click the bus icon to receive transit directions. Or, view route schedules.
How will you know if you’ve missed the bus?
Each bus stop sign has the phone number for Greenlink’s dispatch booth printed on it. If you think the bus is running late or want to confirm that you did not miss the bus, you can call the dispatch booth at 864-467-5001.
How much will you need to ride the bus?
A one-way trip is $1.50. You can purchase a transfer ticket for $0.50 if you need to take a second route to reach your final destination. The fare boxes on the buses only accept cash or coin, and do not provide change, so you should have the exact amount you need on hand.
You can also purchase a 20-ride punch pass for $27. These can be purchased at the Downtown Transit Center (100 W. McBee Avenue) with cash or a credit card.
You can also purchase an all-day pass for $5 at the Downtown Transit Center with cash or a credit card. Because the pass is activated when you use it for the first time, it doesn’t need to be used on the same day that you purchase it, so you can purchase multiple passes at one time to have for days when you’ll be taking multiple trips.
Greenlink also offers several discounted fares.
How do you notify the bus driver that you want to get off the bus?
Pull the stop request cord that is along the windows inside the bus when you’re at least one block from your stop. This will let the driver know that you want to get off at the next stop.
Use the rear door to exit the bus. This allows for boarding passengers to use the front door.
