At 10.25 square miles, Zone 3 is the largest zone. It has a population of approximately 9,436 and includes a significant amount of retail and commercial properties, such as the Haywood Road and Woodruff Road corridors.
Nineteen patrol officers are assigned to Zone 3. Officers work varying shifts and provide 24-hour coverage.
Among the priorities for Zone 3 are addressing the increase in autobreakings along the Woodruff Road corridor; working with human service providers to identify and assist the homeless population; collaborating with major retailers to reduce shoplifting calls and patrolling major shopping areas and apartment complexes to prevent recurring crimes.
